1.1. The Importance of Talking About Mental Health

Although mental health has long been a taboo topic, more and more people are recognizing the importance of speaking openly about it. The stigmatization of mental disorders often prevents individuals from seeking the help they need. It is essential to create an environment where everyone feels comfortable sharing their experiences and seeking support. At Polin et Moi, we want to be part of this conversation.

Mental health affects not only those with diagnosed mental disorders but also those around them. Anxiety, stress, and depression can influence our relationships and our performance at work.

Therefore, promoting emotional well-being not only benefits the individual experiencing it but also enriches the community as a whole. If we all commit to taking care of our mental health, we can build a stronger and more supportive society.

1.2. A Gesture of Hope: Flowers and Positive Messages for Mental Health on the Streets

To contribute to awareness for World Mental Health Day, we decided to take to the streets to distribute flowers, accompanied by a hopeful message: “Everything will be okay.” This phrase aims to remind people that, even when facing mental health challenges like depression or anxiety, there is always hope and resources to turn to. Mental health is often a topic that remains in the shadows, and we want to bring it to light by offering words of encouragement to those in need. The activity generated an atmosphere of optimism and reaffirmed the importance of these small gestures. We were able to brighten the day for many people, lighting up their faces and giving them a moment of happiness.

This action served as a symbolic reminder that caring for our mental health starts with ourselves and extends to those around us. Small acts of empathy can provide relief to those struggling with mental health issues like stress and anxiety. The simple gesture of giving flowers was more than a physical act; it was a reminder that we can all make a difference in someone else's life.

As part of our actions for World Mental Health Day, we also collaborated with psychologist Amagoia Eizaguirre, a specialist in psychological therapy and emotional well-being. Together, we have developed educational content for our community on what mental health is and how to address common issues such as stress and anxiety. We want to empower our clients with tools that help them better manage their emotions and recognize the importance of self-care.

In addition, we are working closely with the ANAED Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting individuals in vulnerable situations who suffer from mental disorders. ANAED provides psychological therapy and emotional support services, which aligns perfectly with our philosophy of offering real support to those in need. We chose to collaborate with ANAED because we understand the importance of supporting causes that advocate for people's mental well-being. You can learn more about their work here.
